About grinding machines in general:
Grinding is in fact nothing more than a cutting operation that can be carried out efficiently using so-called grinding machines. In the case of a grinding machine, the main rotary motion is performed by an indefinite-edge tool. The end result of the grinding process is the creation of smooth or even mirror-like surfaces, mostly for finishing operations, but also for preparatory operations with the powerful grinding machines we offer. As with most machines, grinding machines must comply with a number of safety regulations.
The safe use of grinding machines is also regulated by the "Safety requirements for grinding tools".
Rules for safe use of the grinding machine:
- The speed or peripheral speed used must not exceed the maximum value indicated on the disc, the packaging or the quality certificate!
- Only use the washers and holding discs specified for the grinding machine!
- Make sure that the grinding wheel is intact before you start grinding! Check by sound test! A damaged grinding wheel is strictly forbidden!
- Tighten the retaining nuts of the retaining washers with even force!
- All grinding machines may only be used with the protective cover specified in the standard!
- The maximum distance between the grinding wheel and the support is 3 mm!
- All newly mounted discs must be test run for at least 5 minutes! During the test run, the grinding machine must not stand in the plane of the disc!
- When grinding and disc control, always use the personal protective equipment prescribed for the machine and grinding method.
